With the aim to provide relief to patients of Dementia and to ensure a better quality of life for elders, Alkem Laboratories Limited, a pharmaceutical company, launched for the first time in India, a product called "Donep Syrup." Dementia affects the brain and usually occurs in people after 65 years of age. A person suffering from Dementia shows clear signs and symptoms of progressive impaired memory, thinking process and behavioral changes.

Alkem Laboratories Limited has donated Rs.5,00,000 a portion of its revenue to HelpAge India to support the cause of the elderly.
