Monsoons have led to widespread flooding in different states of India. Rajasthan, Gujarat, Assam and Odisha Have suffered destruction of homes, livelihood, livestock and lives.

In southern Rajasthan, the districts of Pali, Jalore and Sirohi are badly affected. Gujarat needed to relocate 25000 families to shelters in just 2 days. The flooding has affected Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Anand, Patan and parts of Valsad districts. 15 districts of Assam including Lakhimpur, Jorhat, Golaghat, Sivasagar and also Kaziranga National Park and Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary have sustained heavy damages. Odisha is staring at a major flood after heavy rainfall in Kalahandi and Rayagada districts, in Nabarangpur at least 6000 people were evacuated as flood water submerged more than a dozen villages.

In such disasters the Elders suffer the most.
